The 84 hectar Island is located at Akosombo in the Eastern Region, about 2-hour drive (82 Km) from Accra via Tema Shai Hills.

Lake Volta is an artificially created lake, like a large reservoir contained behind the Akosombo Dam. The lake is located completely within Ghana. On the Volta Lake is the MV Dodi Princess which is an extension of the Volta Hotel.

The Dodi Princess II is a newly built three-deck boat, is a modern 176 capacity cruise boat that has been placed on the lake for tourists to enjoy the cruise life while they get entertained on board.

Passengers onboard the cruise boat can see picturesque of the surrounding mountains, the Akosombo Dam, the Presidential chalets, Dwarfs’ Island and some tilapia farms.

For water sports lovers, there are Speed boats, pedal boats, jet ski, kayaks, water bicycles for your adventure. Those who are scared of water can also cross their legs as they enjoy delicious hot-grilled tilapia harvested from the tilapia farm on the lake with some fresh juice.

Guests are welcomed with lively music with traditional dances at the Island. There is an ostrich park, a bush-buck park, and two large birdcages with assorted colorful local and foreign birds. The three large ostriches at the theme park are also friendly.
