Most of the world class airlines in the world cancelled their flights in East Asia due to China’s recent missile tests. The major airlines had just been out of their portion of the great depression and they were looking up for more passengers to throng their airports.
Recently, staff strikes made it difficult to for the major airlines to operate. They had to cancel their schedules and apologize to the teaming passengers.
Also, some of the airlines had to fully satisfy their staff or recruit new ones in order for their operations to go on smoothly. But in the wake of all these challenges, the airlines had been able to stand on their feet and ensured that passengers have the chance to travel to wherever they want in the world.
The actions of China, is hampering the growth of the tourism industry in East Asia. China recently launched a missile into the South China Sea without any notice to the various airlines. There were no news items signaling the country of any imminent missile tests.
All world class airlines had to re-route their planes or cancel their already booked flights outright. This left many airlines in a delicate state because the missile can lead to the death of loved ones. The missile test was carried out on Taiwan airways which Taiwan have been cautioning China to abstain from. There has long been banter between Taiwan and China over its sovereignty.
Taiwan is heavily protected by The United States of America and China is backed by her long-time ally Russia. China claims that, the location of the country Taiwan makes it an automatic Chinese territory. Hence, Taiwan must pay allegiance to the president of the People’s Republic of China.
The United States of America sees Taiwan as their major trading partner who supplies them with conductors and micro-chips. Hence, if the nation Taiwan gets in the hands of the Chinese government, it will be very hard for companies in The United States to get access to those needed components to manufacture computer hardware.
The Island of Taiwan is only 100 miles from the Chinese mainland. Most of the airlines cancelled their flights due to the rampant missile testing operations by China.
The situation was even worsened when Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan and assured them of the support of United States to its sovereignty. This angered the Chinese government to start a rigorous military operation on the Taiwan Island. The Chinese government also, followed the military presence with unannounced missile tests.
All airlines in these countries, Korea and Singapore had to cancel their flights which were heading and coming from Taiwan. Some airlines were able to successfully re-route their flights and safely fare passengers to their various destinations. Examples of those airlines are ANA, Japan airways, Cathay Pacific Airways and Philippines Airlines.
The Chinese Government was mean that they sent missile to the well-known traveling spaces called Taiwan Straits. Hence, those airlines averted from those paths and this helped them to safeguard the passengers.
