Ever come across a male and female water falls? How about they mating? If not then incline your ears for this grandeur touristic site called the Boti falls at the Eastern region of Ghana.
Boti falls is one of the most visited tourist site in Ghana for its serenity twin falls. Located in the Eastern region of Ghana about 77 Kilometers from Accra, Boti falls is a water fall which falls over an igneous rock. It takes it source from River Pawnpawn from Ahenkwa Amalakpo. Hidden in the forest at Boti Langmase hence it name Boti falls, it was made known by a white catholic priest. The basement was used or served as an entertainment ground for the priest and his friends.
How Boti Falls Was Built
In 1961, the first president of the Republic of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah visited the site and being astonished with the magnificence of the waterfall, he ordered the construction of Rest houses and Guest houses at the site and now a tourist attraction which is among the most visited tourist attractions in Ghana.
Boti falls is characterized by the Upper and Lower falls. The indigenes of the area where the waterfall is, describe it as the male and female waterfall. During the rainy season where there is so much pressure and volume of the fall, the two falls mate together at the base which is called ‘’Mating ceremony’’. Rainbows are formed from the splashing of the two falls, the lower and upper falls during their mate and its really beautiful.

Getting to the base, one has to descend some steps which is a form of exercise and finally a cool and bracing pool for swimming. Nature lovers and picnic lovers should have Boti falls in their bucket list for a different experience that can’t be forgotten.
